Multinational confectionary manufacturer announces exclusive new flavours!

Cadbury – one of the best-known British brands, has today revealed the secret recipe of their recent competition to taste-test 5 new and exclusive flavours for one of their most popular confectionaries.

Owners, Mondelez International, first opened the contest, to discover consumer reaction to the exciting new product development currently being conducted within Cadbury HQ.

Mondelez CEO John Smith is hoping to put all his eggs in one basket, responding to a recent consumer poll which revealed consumers’ desire for a reinvention of the Crème Egg fondant filling, as we know it.

He says: “New ideas are always welcome at Cadbury HQ and we are passionate about keeping ahead of consumer trends. Social media now makes it very easy to understand better, exactly what our consumers like and dislike, want and need. Introducing a new flavour of Crème for our yearly eggs, chosen entirely by the consumers themselves, is the perfect way to show our appreciation of people’s continued loyalty to our brand, and further establishes the endearing popularity of this exclusive Easter product. ”

First distributed in 1963 by Fry’s, Cadbury’s Crème Eggs are only available once a year. Although the recipe was changed in 2016 from the original Dairy Milk chocolate to a cheaper substitute; filled eggs first manufactured by the Cadbury Brothers in 1923, remain popular to this day with annual sales reaching in excess of £200 million.

The new winning fondant flavour  – Candied Pecan Pie – will be officially hatched next week, reaching all good supermarket shelves for Easter 2020!

Notes to editors:
A Cadbury Creme Egg is a chocolate-like confection produced in the shape of an egg, originating from the British chocolatier Cadbury’s. The product consists of a thick chocolate-like shell, containing an enzymatically derived sweet white and yellow filling that resembles fondant which mimics the albumen and yolk of a soft boiled egg from a fowl such as a chicken or goose. The Creme Egg is the best-selling confectionery item between New Year’s Day and Easter in the UK, with annual sales in excess of 200 million and a brand value of approximately £55 million.
